MEGAupload can take forever- WORKAROUND

Well, thanks again, really. I have to say that I was feeling really stupid for awhile, not being able to get it working. I was actually a bit flabbergasted when it finally did, lol. I must have somehow, bizarrely, just by sheer coincidence used a mixture of slight incorrect commands from time to time to not get it correct for so long. And yes, not having to use system memory can be a great help. I look forward to try using it in varying methods. I am hoping that I could download using it from a high enough online parent folder that the entire download would at least be contained in separate sub-folders, and not just individual files.

I was going to ask about downloading to a specific folder, but I guess you answered that question for me, lol.

Mega Basterd, as I originated the post for, already has it all worked out. I download 8 gig folders without inturruption.

I tried saving to a specific folder but it doesn't work. Can you give me an example to follow?

I never even wanted to do that so I have no idea if it's possible.
It saves to the megatools folder and you move it to wherever you need it!

Okay, I've worked out how to download to a specific folder! And more!

First, create your empty folder. I called mine "Megabollocks"

Right click your new folder to get the path name (mine is "C:\Megabollocks")

When inputting your link to the command window, add the path to your new folder at the end of the line like so:

megatools dl hxxps://mega.nz/file/VhskXaqZ#VWesKPj9rp1g --path C:\Megabollocks

And that's it!

I've also figured out how to download specific files or folders. For example here is the mega link to the acetates collection on Audrey Records posted on this forum, which is a collection of album folders. You'll notice that I have now also added "choose files" at the end:

megatools dl hxxps://mega.nz/folder/cgNFSSqC#_qB6_mALmb7UYxYYW6bCRw --path C:\Megabollocks --choose-files

When you press ENTER, a list of all the folders and files will be displayed in the command window, like so:

You'll also see a prompt at the bottom and so type the number of the file or folder you wish to download (just the number, nothing else) and hit ENTER. For example, typing the number 3 will download the very first file in that list ("1-bk.jpg"). Typing 2 will download the whole artwork folder.

Typing 3 4 7 50 will download items 3, 4, 7 and 50.

Typing 4-5 will download both items 4 and 5, and typing 5-14 will download items 5 THROUGH 14.

Typing all will download everything.
