By Help67:

Based on this preference list, I can tell that Help67 tends to mainly choose Lennon compositions. The problem with compilations is finding the right balance between all four of them.

Apparently the handclaps on I Saw Her Standing There are in stereo.

That frankly worries me. ADT again?

A few reflections on the CD (only) releases:
(with no complaints about what DOES appear)

Of course some of the additions aren't as good as the original lineup.
How could they be? What else can you add to the best? I would rather have these extra's than
have no additional tracks.

In the Red and Blue bundle I would have appreciation for a 5th CD containing at least LMD and N&T
There doesn't appear to be any value in buying both if one is inclined toward just the earlier or the later set.

I'm hoping the 2023 mixes of the earlier tracks and MMT don't spell doom for SDE's covering those albums.

I'm a bit frustrated with Love Me Do. On one hand they did great separation work, but then they lumbered it with that big Dave Dexter Jnr reverb. It really does sound like it's straight off The Beatles Second Album.

Kind of like one step forwards, two steps back.

Perhaps it’s time to bust out the deverb machine?!

Yeah, but who can be bothered. The same thing ruined the Hollywood Bowl cd. Generally good sound, but laden with excessive reverb.

Forgive me if this has already been discussed, but I´m guessing the Red compilation will use the canonic "Love me do", with Andy White on drums, right?

This leaves the "Now and then" CD single as the only CD source for the new stereo mix of Ringo´s version.

It's the same version on both album and single. No Andy White version. I think Ringo might see these remixes as an opportunity to reverse what he feels was a slight upon him. I'll be extremely surprised if a future Please Please Me doesn't use Ringo's version too.

Wow, this is a big surprise!
So... It´s a new Red Album indeed!
