Stowe School 1963 (Non Label)

Post by TAKRL »

The Beatles - Stowe School 1963 (1CD) / Non Label

Image

Roxburgh Hall, Stowe School, Buckinghamshire, UK 4th April 1963

A different source was used for this CD than for the EVSD CD. The sections where the tape was stopped were not patched, and Graf Zeppelin worked an accurate speed-correction process. Enjoy.

Thank you! I ordered this as soon as I heard about it, but my copy hasn't arrived yet.

EDIT: I just checked this against the upgraded remaster that JulesMctrainspotter posted a couple of weeks back. My hunch was wrong. This isn't that remaster. Nor is it the Goody remaster that was torrented and then shared here. This is something different. Sounds good, too, compared to at least some of what we had.

2nd EDIT: Elsewhere, TAKRL uploaded another new Graf Zeppelin-remastered title on the "Non Label" label. It's the Wings Manchester 79 show. TAKRL says that Non Label had based that release on a recent tape that surfaced on YouTube. I wonder if Non Label found a YouTube source for this release as well. Sometimes, uploading tapes onto the YouTube platform changes the way they sound. If the two remasters also appeared on YouTube, it's possible the platform dynamics and tech specs altered their sound. Which means it's possible that Non Label's "new" "raw" remaster might actually be one of those other remasters after all?

The title is highly misleading, as it also just comes from the British Library rip with lots of rumble drowning out the low end. :(

Did the "Non Label" people actually say it was from Raw tape? Or was that inference added elsewhere by others? FWIW, nothing in the artwork provided here suggests that the label had access to the "raw tape." Indeed elsewhere, I thought someone said it was a "Graf Zeppelin" remaster.

...title of this thread and the file, in that case. Not to be ungrateful, but it just builds expectation that will be immediately let down upon listening

I have corrected the thread title. Are you satisfied with this?
I used my time off to go to the store and buy this CD, rip it from the CD and share it with you for free. Complaining about it is not motivating for me.
