I bought a small UPS months ago because we have constant power dips/spikes. The UPS allows me to shut down the computer properly.
I also regularly backup work files to a Solid State Drive with a simple program called FreeFileSync. I also mirror file to smaller thumb drives.

I discovered I can run multiple copies of it at once to get more backups done more quickly...
