Really baffling why Martin & Co. thought drenching some of their songs in dense reverb was better.

I would suggest that Martin & Co. did something right because here we are 60 years later still enjoying and tinkering with the same songs. It's fun to hear these dry versions but for me they don't supplant the excitement of the originals.Engonoceras wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 1:32 pm Really baffling why Martin & Co. thought drenching some of their songs in dense reverb was better.
I tried installing Anaconda, python and demucs using a tutorial and it still failed to run without errorEngonoceras wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 1:33 pm I'll have to look into setting up at home.
I'd like to use MVSEP but you have to wait in line a long time to get anything.
I would love an Oasis link. I love the Morning Glory album, but the reverb always drove me nuts.Lord Reith wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 9:49 am Well I couldn't resist doing the US Long Tall Sally mix so here y'all are:

Must try this on Oasis... always wanted to know what they really sound like.

As a test, this is what I suspect the original stereo mix of I Call Your Name sounded like before it was Dexterized. Full disclosure, the resulting track was SO dry that I actually added some Abbey Road-style reverb to prevent it from sounding totally wrong.

I missed this-- could anyone re-up it? Thanks!Bianju wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 4:38 am So, this is something I noticed on mvsep.com. Wow-- this is like a totally different version compared to the US Second Album version I grew up listening to. More like a BBC recording the Dave Dexter Jr thing.Lord Reith wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 9:49 am Well I couldn't resist doing the US Long Tall Sally mix so here y'all are:
