These guys were so good at being pop musicians, it is just horrific what was done to them. I mean, can you imagine being fucked over by your manager so hard that you want to commit suicide? This is why I never signed on the dotted line when I had the opportunity to sign my life away to be famous. Knowing what happened to them, and other music stars, just... I couldn't do it.
Edit to say: I have read the biographies or autobiographies of hundreds of music stars, and each and every one of them got fucked over by people they thought they could trust. Anyone you care to name, they got fucked over. I just didn't want to go there.
I spent a whole lifetime learning how to be good enough on several instruments that I could conceivably be famous. And then I learned about what happened to other musicians. Then, I went to work in the other field of expertise that I taught myself, and worked in it until retirement age.

Badfinger's plight is the best example of why the music industry has no use for musicianship!mojofilter wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 1:15 pm These guys were so good at being pop musicians, it is just horrific what was done to them. Artistry?
(Never heard of it!)
TRIVIA: The CD that was included with the book was recompiled for a 2nd edition. (Different contents.)
I'm glad that OTHERS love the band as much as I do. We're just lucky that Richard DiLello had a camera. Otherwise, we'd have a lot more vivacious 'DICE' on the covers. I bet the photos of Badfinger were all taken on the way to score dope for the staff of the press office. "Hey, guys, anybody got 50 quid? Pete? Joey? Dammit!"
(Hock the camera?)
What a way to make a living! Alas, poor Pete...and, Tom!
The things they never tell you about star-making-machinery!
(It's made of Burmese hemp!)
Thanks, again!
