So there's the evidence they were actually miming during the concert...

Mind you, I can't understand why they would be miking The Beatles PA through the house PA... surely it would be much simpler to have the guys sing into the house mics?

And if that is what was going on then, crikey, that must have been a bloody awful racket!

Let's zoom in and you'll see that standing next to one of the PA speakers, there's a dark haired girl holding onto a microphone:

Now this microphone is different to the one John andf the other two are singing into. I hadn't realised till now but The Beatles had their own vocal PA system at this time, because you can also see the same speakers and mics in the Stowe concert a few weeks earlier. And you also see the same mics in the EMI House performance:

Aren't both pictures from Stowe School, but different dates? The square speakers appear to be the school's PA system.

Well thanks for asking but that doesn't seem to make sense. They are using the same PA at two completely different locations in the same time frame. Stowe School is not likely to have lent them their public address system. Also, as I said the same distinctive microphones are seen in other gigs from the period. I wouldn't expect even Tony to recall some minor detail like that from 60 years ago. Clearly they had some sort of PA they were using, even if it was only for a very short time.
