TRAVELING WILBURYS
OFF THE RECORD LDC 01-1989
Recorded from KLSX-FM, Los Angeles
RMW 1129

This has been in my New Boots folder since at least 2017. I finally had a look at it today. It is likely saved from a drive crash. There was no information, artwork or other files, just the program in four segments, and four songs afterwards, which I think may have been added by whoever posted this material last decade.

The first two segments were massively bass-heavy, and the left had no treble at all. I fixed those to sound roughly equal. The last two segments didn't have the bass overload, but they sounded pretty dull, and I fixed those, and corrected the phase of everything. The extra tracks are: Work It Out, a sax-driven mostly instrumental by Jim Horn, that has Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty on it, so it sounds pretty much like the Traveling Wilburys; a version of Ooby Dooby by Roy Orbison & The Teen Kings that is neither the Je-Wel nor the Sun versions. Due to its sound and surface condition, I suspect it is an acetate demo. It plays up to the last verse, where it edits to a version by the Traveling Wilburys that ended up on something called The Unreleased Masters (disc 1), which I've never seen before. Next is the version Ringo did of "I Call Your Name" which sounds just like the Traveling Wilburys, that was only ever released on VHS and Laserdisc, in an anemic, narrow stereo mix that I improved upon in July 2022. I've put that version here instead. Last is Tom Petty's seasonal record, "Christmas All Over Again," which, remarkably, sounds like the Traveling Wilburys, that has had a voiceover from George superimposed on the intro, and at the end, it fades up to a TW Christmas message by George on top of "Handle With Care".

FLAC 8 files, ffp and st5 verification. No artwork, sorry. Just thought you'd like a nice listen if you didn't already have it, or a less-egregious version if you did. Belated thanks to whoever put it together years ago. By the way, I have no idea what LDC stands for.

The Jim Horn track is from his "Work It Out" CD on WB from 1990. I picked up the album after hearing "Work It Out", but the whole albums has plenty of great musicians contributing included George Harrison on "Take Away The Sadness". The CD is out there and not very expensive...worth checking out!
