Hi all, this time inspired by Lord Reith´s Notes about this song, we´ve got a version of TNK with the complete Pianola ending(Honky Tonk Piano). :D

"Tomorrow Never Knows - the first Beatles song to have centred drums and bass! There was great temptation to remove the stupid honky tonk piano at the end but that would be going too far. I guess they wanted some comic relief at the end, like the laughing after Within You Without You". Lord Reith.

This is the basic rythm track and John´s vocal(No loops no reversed guitars) and we can hear the complete ending by the piano and keyboard.

Please enjoy.

Ps. Beatles 4ever!!! :geek:

Impressive! How they were able to do this in 1966 but especially the attempt to do it. It's so avant garde it's scary. I see the pianola as a nod to the past in something so modern. Impressive work.

By the way, does anyone know what they were recording or working on when they received a visit from Mick Jagger and that Robert Freeman immortalized with the vinyl of the wonderful Aftermath? I just want to know what Mick listened to....

I believe the session that Jagger attended was April 11th, which was for a recording and overdubs onto Got To Get You Into My Life. The photos of them holding the Aftermath sleeve was a few days later on the 14th April, minus Jagger and was a session for Paperback Writer.

Ok, thank you very much for the information. I got confused. Yes, there are pictures of George with a bag and a Decca single (from the Stones?) and the Aftermath is in John's possession. Then there is another one with Paul looking at the back cover and they are not of Robert Freeman, I think. Maybe from The Beatles Monthly Book photographer.

Will have to listen later. I've also prepared the complete isolated jangle piano overdub myself.
