To answer your question, "a needle-drop of an official copy" is a rip of a vinyl LP done using an official LP (needle-drop to differentiate from a "CD rip" as it involves more manipulation and more technical know-how).

I knew the Bulgarian Balkanton release, I had this disc when I was a child. It was terribly noisy and poor quality. It's definitely not about that. As far as I know, most of the Russian vinyl replica releases used DESS rips.

Yeah, you gotta know how to record the record onto your computer and make up funny words to make it seem like a complex technical task to put a needle on a record.
