Thanks again to Mr. Beatleg for this upload, but after burning it to a disc I noticed a lot of defects, most notable in the narration.
It's not exactly clipping or dropouts, but more like some sort of digital skipping in the actual radio transmission. Figuring the problem might be with my burner or my discs, I listened to the original files, as uploaded, on my computer and realized the problem seems to be embedded in the files. Hoping I just had a bad download, I downloaded the files again -- but the problem is still there. (The defects are in BOTH files, for each of the two parts of the documentary, but they really only start to show up about 20 minutes into Part One and Part Two, and then they get progressively worse.
Does anyone else have a "clean" version of this show?

I had noticed the same - not sure if it was due to the source stream or the rip?
