All these jokes are great, but this is the best. Having sat through however many hours of Koyanisquatsi (hey, I was trying to impress a girl with my intellectualism... didn't realise she was just as bored as I was) this is like the payoff that never was!
I think that's because "
Koyanisquatsi" is a bit boring (besides the begnining; this "documentary" is way too long). Terence Mallick stole it for the beginning (the Sean Penn - Present - Part) for The Tree Of Life. But the main theme of Koyanisquatsi is kind of great; it reminds me Nick Mason cavernous voice for "One Of These Days"; sounds like a music for E.T.
In fact, a Beatle(s) did one clip that sum up "Koyanisquatsi". Check the video-clip for "
Wild Life" (the song), the people on the streets, car, airplane, etc... all his in Koyanisquatsi.
That said, did you listen to P.Glass soundtrack of "
Mishima" by Paul Shrader; it's still "musique sérielle" in a way but it's damned good.
