RINGO STARR
I CALL YOUR NAME
from "LENNON: A TRIBUTE" video
RMW 2022-07-16
Ringo recorded this cover at Rumbo Recorders, Canoga Park, CA in March 1990, in advance of the tribute to John Lennon concert held in Liverpool, May 8th 1990.
Personnel:
Ringo Starr: drums, vocals
Jeff Lynne: acoustic & electric guitars, vocals
Tom Petty: bass, vocals
Joe Walsh: lead guitar
Jim Keltner: cowbell
Running time: 2:24
There was never a record of this song issued. It appeared only on the VHS and Laserdisc format issues of the concert film.
I found it in my "New Boots" folder, where it had been for a long time. It sounded near perfect, except it was kind of anemic, and the stereo image was quite narrow. So I fixed those by applying multiband compression and widening the stereo soundfield.
This is a lossless recording (not taken from the lossy audio of the videos on the web). The lack of hiss points to the probability of it being recorded from the LD.
An unnumbered RMW project, 2022.
Verification files are included.

Good for one week.
Enjoy!
