John Lennon Studio Tracks Volumes 1 -9 (Chapter One)
This is one of the earliest series of Lennon CD boots that I remember finding out in the wild. It was at a very small record store called For DJs Only (I was not a DJ.) They had a table of CDs that you could not find in any chain store. A few of these were there next to a plethora of Beatles and McCartney titles. Money was in short supply so you had to pick and choose carefully. From this series I remember buying Vol. 9.
There was a double CD on that table called Wings Over America II which looked just like the official CD in the double thick box. It was too expensive and I have never been able to find it since. I'm sure the recordings on it would now be considered sub-par quality. That disc is one of my white whales. What do you remember finding at a record shop back in the day that you couldn't afford?
Enjoy this set!
