Engonoceras provided a youtube video of RARM I had not seen before, where the piano section missing from the commercial version is present and correct. However the audio is distorted and only has the left channel, so I have extracted the extra piano bit and added it to the commercial version. You can hear it between 1'45" and 1'56"

For some reason, the piano after this moves from the centre to the left side. You can hear it pan back quickly to the centre again at 2'07", so was Norman Smith just bored and decided to muck about with the mix? Very strange.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the "complete" mix.

Aside from the wrong note, it sounds so weird having piano in that bit doesn't it? I know it wasn't intended, but having a quiet spot at that point seemed to add to the song somehow.

Just goes to show that serendipitous accidents can play a large part in the creative process.
