Complete Recording Sessions Vol 15 available
Re: Complete Recording Sessions Vol 15 prototype available
What, RB includes the guide vocal on the main vocals tracks? The guide vocal was wiped from the 4 track to 8 track copy but persists on the original 4 track tape.
Re: Complete Recording Sessions Vol 15 prototype available
Right, that might be true. Well, I'd say it surely had some more vocalizings.masterjedi wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 2:50 pm definitely the main vocal overdub isn't on the McCartney 3,2,1 track, so that track may have had additional vocalizings after rockband fades out
Are you sure? I thought the guide vocal could be heard because it bled into the drum track while they were recording take 6 live.masterjedi wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 2:50 pm It is the same actually. And it was mixed into the main vocal track on RB (not the drum track), so definitely another real track and wasn't wiped.
It would be great if it could be retrieved... but I highly doubt it.

Re: Complete Recording Sessions Vol 15 prototype available
Sorry for any confusion I may have contributed to. I think we're talking about different vocal tracks. McCartney 3,2,1 at the end has what I would presume to be an overdub vocal track that was faded out of the released version, but not the main vocal overdub. Rockband keeps both.

re-read Ant's original post. I thought he was talking about the vocal on 321, but he was not. Sorry. The vocal on 321 is the same as one of the vocals on the main vocal track in rockband, but it's not the guide vocal.

Re: Complete Recording Sessions Vol 15 beta 2 available
I've uploaded a new beta version to the folder (link in the first post). I think I've addressed most of the feedback.
Items not addressed:
I still have no good ideas on how to split up the 2 I Want You takes
Paul's vocalizing the lead guitar solo of "Something" from RB - multitracks are outside the scope of this project, and it's probably buried in the common version already
Come Together (take 1) (at 1:10) and Come Together (take 5) (at 1:30) contain the same identical "Come Together!" phrase - agreed, but sadly, we have nothing to fix take 5 with
Oh! Darling delay tape onto backing track - was unable to get anything that sounded half way decent
For You Blue and its two lead vocals "Faders up" version - these 2 vocals just sound horrible together
If I've missed anything else, let me know.

Terrific work! If you told me this was the final version, I'd believe it (aside from not having the text file, of course). The new Take 10 of BOJ&Y was a pleasant surprise, too. My jaw dropped on that one!

Square and round brackets are used for take numbers interchangably, go for one

I have decompressed this one:

I'm not sure the lead guitar works well with the other stuff, and I would suggest to denoise the ending from LITMW

Re: Complete Recording Sessions Vol 15 beta 2 available
yes, was planning to fix those when the tracks get numbered
I tried, but the 2 sources sound so different in fidelity, I found it distracting. I have an idea though.
is that the same as what you have shared previously? I though the volume of the piano was too inconsistent after decompression, and I have a theory as to why. It seems that for at lease the AR tracks, they added the background noise found at the end of the tracks to the whole thing, and it ducks with the audio. I think when you decompress these based on the background noise, you aren't really decompressing correctly due to the varying added noise.
I'll have a look again.
Thanks for all your help!

That's all Csnyfan. It is really brilliant, isn't it?
