I'm not disagreeing - but can you explain why this makes it 15th?

There's so much wonderful data here... would you folks consider "taking it from the top" and going step by step through each day? This might very well help put some footage back into the correct order.

And which home movie did that Moorlands still come from? I don't ever recall seeing that before.

Looking at the photo, surely they are heading into Cornwall along the A30 towards Newquay.

Aren't they travelling east from Newquay? The camera facing west from the front of the bus.
I assumed they didn't travel that far from Newquay until travelling home. Could be wrong though.

And which home movie did that Moorlands still come from? I don't ever recall seeing that before.

I think you are right; if so it's from the 12th; Liskeard , Bodmin ( thanks to Jeni Crowley's report in the November, 1967 issue of The Beatles Book as pointed out by Doug in The910 vol. 16) Lanivet , Victoria?

The bus is going in the wrong direction isn't it? They must have taken the same route back as far as Bodmin on the 15th. The Shell garage just outside of Bodmin is passed travelling East (from Newquay to Bodmin) again presumably on the 15th.

Here's some shots from Day 1 on the way from Surrey to Devon. Since it rained all day, they didn't get much filming done, but did capture shots of the various places they drove through. It seems these should be identifiable.

1. They approach a village.


2. This comes right after the previous screen shot. It looks like the sign says "Coxes End Garage" on the Shell station.


3. A shot of a distinctive building from the same village.


4. After a lot of driving, they pass the Fosters Restaurant & Free House, a lot of scenery that looks like where they did the pick-up shots much later, and this odd place on the left...


5. Finally, after a lot more driving, they come to a much larger town. This has distinctive pub...


6. ... and is much more crowded.


So... identifications, anyone?
