Interestingly, he and Giles Martin differ in their stories about Shea. Ron says that the tapes were 4 tracks across 2 stereo machines, whereas Giles Martin says it was 2 machines but just 2 track and both machines recorded the same.

Ron's still working on material. A few years back he was responsible for the fabulous Herman's Hermits Bear Family set, and currently he is working with the Hollies digging out unreleased material. This has been delayed by the pandemic as getting to London to go through tapes at Abbey Road is not easy at the moment.

His brother Bob is fab too. Film restoration is his game.
Thanks for the clarification....I didn't want to believe that.

Ron Furmanek and Bob are both great....its a very good thing that we have people out there doing stuff properly

I offer these up for those who might want to modify Lord Reith's cover a wee bit. Thank you Lord Reith, for this terrific treat.

On a related topic--perhaps most related to the first cover art shown above!--how much of Shea 1966 has been rescued/compiled ever? I'm pretty sure it's not complete, but...now that demixing tech is more readily available, I wonder how much might be rescued from the Ed Rudy album of that concert, where he recorded fan reactions with The Beatles playing in the background... (I think I'm talking about the right thing!)

Has anybody ever compiled a list of what's available from Shea '66? If so, I've never seen one...

Nothing wrong with an open contest if One is not up for it.
