maul, thanks very much for this research... are the sources you listed on the small chart the best available for each version?maul wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 1:00 pm
This is that chart, extended :
oops, no matter but comment on compilations should be longer and less equivocal:
> Compilation 2: Unfinished assembly. All new mixes. Get Back and Two Of Us presents unique mixes. New take of Let It Be, longer Dig It, shaky DAP intro
> Compilation 3a: (shaky DAP intro), Two Of Us new mix, Get Back single mix, final edit of Dig It, chat edited in between LIB and TLAWR
Wrong Masters for the ‘Glyn Johns 1969 Mix’, and Japan came to rescue.

These are the best 'core' and restored sources: (I can't indicate best source for Compilation 2 OPD, RMW? beatlesource?)powerPC wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 6:10 pmmaul, thanks very much for this research... are the sources you listed on the small chart the best available for each version?maul wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 1:00 pm This is that chart, extended :

Here is 'Spread The Word', an alternate source for the WKBW broadcast. How does it compare to WBKW Exclusive? I think it's lossless at least, but maybe just my 'exclusive' one is lossy.

OPD-wise my choice is called version 1 / copy 2 (I believe 1 / 1 is just the extracted center channel of 1 / 2.), but I'm just 99% sure beatlesource is the source. r9453?
Here's my quick & conservative remaster - still with all the flaws:

So where can I get "Rockin Reel"? Is that better than Celluloid Rock?

Sorry if this is a duplication, but here is a different take on the "How did this happen?" discussion...

Ok here's my needledrop of the Tonto Get Back LP from 1985, second pressing (lineage: Thorens TD 160 with Rega tonearm, Shure V15 cart, Pioneer SA500A amp, Mac GarageBand). Apart from a few light clicks I have edited out it is a flat transfer. I don't detect and more rumble and/or clicks when the source starts, so I'm still thinking it is not from acetate... what do you think?LFSDoc wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 9:21 amI’ll try and make a n/d over the weekendLord Reith wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 8:46 amWell mine was very scratchy, but it could have just been a bad pressing. It seems extraordinary that exactly the same oddball version of the album would turn up from tape source. Unless it wasn't tape at all and was just very well declicked.
Has anybody actually GOT a rip of the 1985 Tonto lp? I have never seen a rip.
