I thought it might be fun to re-visit the little parlo(u)r game of Misheard Lyrics, Beatles-style. Here are the rules:

1. List the actual song title, followed by the misheard lyric - in context with the lyrics surrounding it (see sample below)
2. Please post only ONE example at a time!
3. Feel free to BRIEFLY tell the story (if any) that goes with your example.
4. Please try not to drift away from Beatles or solo Beatles examples. (We've all heard the Hendrix "'Scuse me while I kiss this guy" one, for example.)

I always thought it was more of a "yip yip, bumm" kind of reply...

Across The Universe

They slither wildly as they slip away across the universe

For many, many years I misheard the lyric as 'They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe'. Even today, some lyric websites still get it wrong.

To be fair, the Phil Spector version always sounded a bit muddy. It's much clearer on the 'naked' version.
