Printing CD Artwork

I have tried to different programs and neither one of them print the album art true to size. What does everyone use to print??

i likely haven't printed artwork in well over a decade likely closer to 2 and i know of nobody who does
when the collection was small and new it seemed so cool to do artwork and just see the cases but at some point i just got over it and left that all in the rear.

I made an outline of a CD insert with just straight edges. By trial and error I worked out what the right size would be.

Now, I just get that template up and paste the artwork in, re-sizing it to touch the lines, and then it will print out the right size.

I bought a program for CD insert design called SureThing Disc Labeler. You can use your own images for covers, or use any of their (fairly cheesy) backgrounds and print text, curve it, etc. I printed a few hundred covers, but when I realized how much I was spending in printer ink, overall it was not worth it. So I haven't printed anything in ten years. Still, it was a good program, and I think they still make it.

If you want to design your own artwork and then export the images to .jpg or .png, you have to buy the Deluxe version, because that option is greyed out on the less-expensive version.

I printed covers for my CD for many years, but also stopped 10 or so years ago.

I simply resized the pictures before I printed them.
Front: 12 x 12 cm or 12 x 24 cm (for a mini booklet of 4 pages)
Back: 15 x 11,7 cm

Well, I've made templates with the right size (front, back, inlay) in MS Word.
Then I inserted the artwork and stretched it so that it will fit into the templates.
Done.

I used Media Face II. I should say I use it, but I don't really make covers anymore, only for special collections I might make. It's very easy to use and you can insert pictures or print on your covers. It also works on the CD itself artwork.

I use it now just for the front cover booklets....very easy and it prints to size on regular paper or special heavy duty paper.

Don't ever resize cover art. It hugely downgrades the quality, that is why cover art is always much larger than it needs to be. You place the oversized artwork in a bespoke printing software like the ones listed above.

i still use microsoft publisher, but i rarely make artwork for jewel cases anymore.
