Hi guys,
Does anyone have the vinyl rip of the banned “The Best Of” from Odeon/Toshiba ? It was released on the unofficial CD a few years ago in Japan.

Does anyone have the vinyl rip of the banned “The Best Of” from Odeon/Toshiba ? It was released on the unofficial CD a few years ago in Japan.

What's the story behind this? This seems very interesting.

In 1965, when the Beatles' popularity was rapidly increasing in Japan, Mr. Takashima, the Toshiba EMI’s producer, planned to release an LP record called “The Best of the Beatles”. It was a Japan's unique best album that included a total of 16 hit songs. Mr. Takashima says that the only two discs were pressed for a promotional use, though EMI refused to release it for no apparent reason. He posseses one of two discs, but it is said the other was lost.

whom sent me a Beatles Color Japanese Discography
Wish I kept the book, now hard to get
I took all the notes, release dates,
& this album, was projected release date 25 Feb 1965

I wonder if it is truly a rip, or a reconstruction. i read only two copies were pressed, and one is lost while the other is with an Odeon exec.
