Something wrong with The Complete Back To The Egg Sessions (BFB) 4CD
Hi apesrfools,
Thank you for sharing a nice set. But I'm afraid there is something wrong with your files. They are surely lossless, but 'lossy' in another meaning. When I decode the flac files to .wav with Flac Frontend, a warning comes out for every track, saying "WARNING, cannot check MD5 signature since it was unset in the STREAMINFO". And when I check the generated .wav files, some of the audio samples seem to have been lost.
Let's take track 01 of disk1 for an example. Generated .wav file has 19304448 samples, which is equal to 32830.69 sectors. On the other hand, according to the EAC log in the downloaded folder, the track should have 32834 sectors of audio samples. Thus, it looks like about 3.3 sectors of audio samples seem to have been lost. Same can be said for every track although the amount of lost samples are not constant.
I will keep the downloaded files with me because I like this set, but I would appreciate it very much if someone could upload truely 'lossless' files someday.
Thanks for sharing again!

I decoded the flac file back to wav using Traders Little Helper.
I checked over the EAC log and it showed timing trouble spots in 3 places.
I loaded the wav into Adobe Audition and the spectral view of the wav reported that the file was indeed lossless.
I played the track all the way through and there were no audible errors.

Hi apesrfools,
Thank you for taking your time for checking. I don't think the reported timing problems has anything to do with this problem, because track 02, for which no timing problem was reported, has the same issue. Same warning message comes out and it has only 22548.9 sectors of samples although it should have 22552 sectors according to the EAC log file.
Anyway, I don't think this problem will do any harm as long as I play them on my PC.
Thank you one more time for sharing.
