Back in the '70s a friend and I used a reel-to-reel deck with the tape twisted to hear Beatles stuff backwards. Now you can easily do this yourself in an audio editor.
Try Hello Goodbye – tell me what you hear... Good stuff.

You can do this with Audacity using the 'reverse' filter.

Here is the Beatles "I Gotta Get Out Of Here" (Paul's version of Help!):
hxxps://drive.google.com/file/d/18irgNaAZ5xEnigMRGvNbPsNTT0JvSiyI/view?usp=sharing
After listening to this and leaving my friend's house on foot back in the '70s I had to make my way home alone at night............
This is what I hear:
"I gotta get out of here, I gotta get out of here (alive)...
Whoa oh, whoa oh...
Yes they're out to get me I run hard
Running hard
Yes they're out to get me I run hard
Running hard
Yes they are, they're out to get me!
(unintelligible pleading)
Say yes
Yes they're out to get me I run hard
Running hard
Yes they're out to get me I run hard
Running hard
Running with my hands tied, they're out to get me!
...Say yes!"
Didn't songwriters used to play hits backwards trying to make new songs?
I would love to hear someone record this one as a real song! The structure holds up and it would be pretty effective!

Re: Beatles: Turn Me On! - Backwards Beatles
The first way I'd "figured out" what the backward last line in RAIN was: was; in fact, when I'd played my reel to reel copy of the Hey Jude album on a quadraphonic deck and heard the opposite side playing backwards (forward) through the REAR CHANNELS (which, of course, made me realize it was just a repeat of John's opening lyric).
Needless to say, doing the same with REVOLUTION 9 was the real "experience" Particularly, the loops of the 1954 Myra Hess(?) piano etudes recordings (near the beginning); however, also, an interesting droning Rock rhythm track layered under the (what sounds like?) the Day In the Life strings climax (which, is a 15-second loop often heard during the first four minutes). I, truly, believe that droning Rock rhythm track is a fragment of CARNIVAL OF LIGHT.

Very interesting theory 4-track-mind! In your honor, I am uploading the Revolution #9 isolations that I have in my collection:

Turning "Peace Of Mind" back to front gives some interesting results.

Re: Beatles: Turn Me On! - Backwards Beatles
I was futzing with tracks by the Doors - by raising volume by 10 or more times for the starts and ends, to see if there's something interesting. The first track on the first post-Jim Morrison album was really weird. Not only it contained two backward messages at the start - when I raised volume at the end by 20 times, it turned out there was yet another backward message! That last one can not be detected by any means when playing at normal volume; so when the album was issued on CD in 2015, evidently from tape, it was a find nobody would expect.
