Re: Youtube
I solved this problem by signing out of YouTube (Premium), deleting my Google Chrome history, and logging back in to YouTube. The second step might have been unnecessary, but With Windows it's never a bad idea. Thanks for bringing this up!Sheldi wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 6:59 pm I don't know if it's just me or not, but it's become difficult to download from Youtube using JDownloader2 or various other 3rd party downloaders. My preference is for JDownlaoder2 or a couple of the Digiarty apps, Winxvideoxai or Videoproc, all of which have been excellent in the past. JDownloader2 is now wanting cookie logins, which is ok, I suppose: a pain in the backside to set it up and do, but I guess worth it for something you really want. The other 2 apps are rejecting links posted in to them.
Is anyone else experiencing difficulties? Is it an app thing, or a Youtube thing? Or am I just particularly inept?

Re: Youtube
Me also. A few days ago it refused to download something so I updated it the latest build and that sorted it.
If people are having problems downloading it's usually because youtube changed something.

Re: Youtube
Loader.to still works everything else the codecs they use are inaccessible when you insert the link. But because of Loader.to or its clones sometimes it doesn't download correctly meaning doing it again. I'm now using 4k on Android and it's way better. I wish the wouldn't have the white background at least something less blinding or have a dark theme and would save draining the battery.

Re: Youtube
Did you get any error messages before that, saying that you needed to register in order to dl a certain file type? I hadn't dl'ed anything in awhile, until last week, and I got an error message saying I needed to register before dl-ing an 'opus' + video file (forget which video codec). I guessed a yt-dlp upgrade might be the answer, but I just dl'ed a similar quality level file combination instead. I'll probably go ahead and look for an upgraded yt-dlp build anyway, but I always like to try and figure out what is doing what with that system, lol.Egg_Crisis wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 5:11 pm Me also. I haven't bothered with opus files though. Whenever I've done a comparison they've only been a gnat's hairbreadth better so I've not really bothered with them.
One time though I found a weird file that was HUGE and it turned out to be a multitrack with 6 tracks, almost lossless. Two of the tracks were blank and the other four contained the audio in different degrees of loudness. All were clipped so I chose the quietest and discarded the rest. Weird, I only ever saw that once.
