My god that really moved me. I thought that was the perfect companion to First Visit. It was about reinforcing what they were - fun.

God to be young again and feel that first flush of hearing then.

It's my favourite period of Beatles. I don't even think that was as such really about the Beatles per se but more about what they represent.

Thought it was great.

In terms of sound etc good that they've brought the Lennon vocals up on ed Sullivan. Noe idea how they got George's vocals on that first version of Beethoven at Washington. Was that a new angle?

I know folk are going to moan about it because it's not all minutae and seventy hours of outtakes but it wasn't about that - it's a documentary about the impact they and in a wider sense music has on people. It's really easy to forget in this day and age of temporary cynicism.

If they released this alongside a remastered First Visit/Sullivan as a companion it would be perfect

Oh and the anthology clips looked pristine including stuff that wasn't in original. No way that's not getting released

Finished watching a minute or so ago.
it was decent but the editing was not great.
The paris interview should have been at the beginning....the guy that worked with john after being deported had nothing really to do with the whole 64 story...it was a let down with a few good moments.

"That guy" was Jack Douglas - I think a wonderful connection to the story.

Well, elsewhere Douglas says that his tramp steamer trip to Liverpool coincided with the release of "Rubber Soul." Which has nothing to do with the whole '64 story.

not really surprised that the doco used this in a misleading way so it "fit" the narrative.

Warning: my hunch is that Disney employs loads of lawyers who will not be happy if anyone offers or suggests on a public forum where to find pirated copies of their shows.

Honestly, what does a one-month Disney+ subscription cost? Ten dollars? Consider signing up for a month-- watch BEATLES '64, the LET IT BE movie, and the Peter Jackson/Get Back shows. After you've watched them all, just cancel your subscription.

I found the doco totally underwhelming (as expected). Plus I didn't think the Ed Sullivan or Washington concert footage looked nor sounded any better than previous versions despie the Peter Jackson hype of big improvements. And there were some extremely strange interviews with unknown people that tried to make it all very deep on a cultural and philosophical way which was unexpectedly quite bizarre. Overall it was a weird doco given what the subject was meant to be. Best part was the opening about JFK with that stunning ballad version of "All My Loving" (who performed this?) I found this very moving indeed and then the strangeness began

Reading the reviews on here and SHF... I'm not sure I even want to see it now. I had hoped it has some new footage but everything people have described as "new" I've already seen. I suspect Apple may have meant "new to casual fans". Incomplete songs, the pointless Kennedy angle, performances from other people... and Smokey saying he saw The Beatles at The Cavern? Is he a mate of Whoopee or something? That is such a transparent falsehood. There is no way in hell Smokey could have gotten into the Cavern without the Beatles completely flipping out and being all over him. If it were true, there would be many anecdotes.
