Wallace and Gromit fans in the UK should try and check out the statue in Preston, if they're in the area (Nick Park's home town)

I've seen it and it's great - lots of joke headlines and gags in the newspaper Gromit's reading which you can't see from the pics.

I've put some more images of the newspaper for others to look at. A couple I've lightened to be seen better.

I'm glad the person redoing the late Peter Sallis's voice has done it pretty good job of it, it would have been so disappointing if it was wrong. With the shock headline 'Sallis prefers cake to cheese', what some people may not know that prior to Wallace and Gromit Peter Sallis was more well known for playing the character of Cleggy in the longest running comedy series 'Last of the summer wine' set in Yorkshire. In Yorkshire there is a long tradion of pairing fruitcake with Wensleydale. My dear old mother (bless her), introduced me to Christmas cake and cheese from a young age. So come Christmas when you've got your feet up watching this on TV grab a piece of Christmas cake, cut a slice of Wensleydale, or any other type of cheese and get with the moment.

Ay up lad, more cheese Gromit.

Excellent pics, Sir, thank you for sourcing, and posting.

I'd forgotten the title of the newspaper, which would be especially amusing to people in the Preston area - the local paper being the (Lancashire) Evening Post.
