Sad times ahead.
The Lawyers are circling the wagons. Sony, Universal Music group, and other major labels are going after the Internet Archive accusing it of being a free record store.
To me this is a bit rich especially since in 2008 Universal Studios lost 500,000 recordings in a fire and had no archival back up (I'm led to believe), as the internet archive is well known for having a huge historical 78 rpm depositary as well as other rare recordings.
Hopefull this is not the end of this and other not for profit sites, only time will tell.
Amoos.
PS the Archive was recently attacked and is still off line, but hopefully it should be back up soon. Fingers crossed.
Internet Archive, is this the end.

Doubt it.
Its' back online, well sort of.
THey have many corporate clients, they have access again.
The webarchive machine is also back up.
The public facing bit will be the next step.
Anyway, it's not like theres thousands of other places. Cloud sites. Torrent sites. FTP. Direct links, Dsicord, Telegram, even Usenet.

Re: Internet Archive, is this the end.
Giginjapan's been offline for a few days now and I'm fearing it'll never pop back up again.
Although it's not been updated for at least a year, it remained a good source of info for boots issued between, say, 2010 and 2022. I used it often and am going to miss it if it's gone forever.
