At the bottom of the list of messages: "mark all" and then "delete marked messages".

Note that sent and unsent messages are also kept.

If you can't see the link then try pressing the quote button and it might show up in the quoted text.

Always happens to me with google links. I just see blank space until I press the quote button, then there is a link hiding there.
