Burning to DVD discs

Post by maccafan1 »

I have always prefered when downoads are in DVD file format but aware a lot are now MP4 and even the odd MKV files, these MKV do not seem whatever try to get will be accepted by any burning software.

Have come across the free software Handbrake 1.7 which will convert MKV to mp4 files, does take quite a while depending on the length of the file in first place but does work just fine.

Hope this helps anybody like me that still do discs for myself and for friends.

Not sure why anyone would convert and downgrade to burn in DVD format, if the file isn't already provided that old way. Any burning software should be able to make a "data" DVD -- so just leave the MP4 and MKV files as they are, and burn them onto data DVDs. My blu-ray player handles those just fine.
