I have a question about the 1988 UK XDR cassettes. Are the master tapes used for the cassettes the same ones used for the first CDs?

There was very little likelihood of an "analog CASSETTE MASTER" being used to mass duplicate cassettes once the digital era came along and "the master" was created and stored in a ROM file drawer.

The *only* three tape manufacturers which would've continued to have a special process devoted to analog, would've been: MFSL; demo tapes made by Nakamichi; and pre-Universal/pre-1992 A&M cassette titles.
