I find the Martin score subjectively and objectively bad.

Supposedly young Giles did the bass correct? That means his stink is on it as well.

It is a little bit too flowery in my opinion. I guess he was going for a "romantic' theme, but to me the appeal of this song has always been about its irony. If John had lived, it would have been a romantic song on his next album in the same style as Woman. But instead it became a chilling and haunting message from the grave. The flowery strings sit very uncomfortably on top of that.

To get back to the subject at hand, I appreciate this work as a thoughtful and well realized rendering, given what we have.
It's nice to hear "Paul" in the bridge and woo-wooing at the end.
I can imagine something much like it on Abbey Road.
Thank you ed_s_chen!

It is a very nice track. One of my favorite Lennon songs of all time. The strings have a bit much in the way of syrup. The piano I don't mind because I expect to hear it that way. It anchors the piece in reality for me.

The AI tech scares the crap out of me. It's like the horse has been let out of the barn. Along with the entire murder of crows. I am not looking forward to how it gets misused and then, how the misuses of it are themselves misused.

Yeah, I think people will begin to regret ever uploading their personal videos now... ideal training fodder for scam artists to create virtual relatives who phone you just as you're sitting down to dinner, asking for money!

So is all that George and Paul stuff on GOWM made by AI too? Or is that from the unfinished version the Threetles recorded?

Funny true story about scam calls from relatives. No AI involved here. Just a funny story:

I was at dimsum in Monterey Park yesterday with some family and friends. Conversation got around to telephone scams. My friend, who is probably well into his 80's, described receiving a phone call from someone who was pretending to be his grandson. "Grandpa, you've got to help me. I need money." ....that kind of call. My friend was very sympathetic....knew right away it was a scam....but tried to keep the guy talking. Asked about the family. Asked how he's doing in school. Asked about his classes. Tied him up for several minutes before saying, "Well, I've enjoyed talking to you. And I've enjoyed wasting your time that you'd otherwise be scamming other people." And hung up.

Many amongst our elders are a lot smarter than we give them credit for.

Great story. Yeah, the thing that young people don't realise is that older people are much smarter than they appear. They've been around much longer and have seen it all. They may not always be tech savvy, but they are life savvy.

Is it just me, or have you put Paul's vocal in the wrong place - a bar too soon?
