I find that the AI vocals sound better when the original voice that it's replacing (the "guide vocal", let's call it) has similar inflections. If someone did an impression of Paul, it would yield best results. The Beatnix' "It's Four You" CD, for instance....

Yes ive noticed on a lot of them , that there can still be traces of the vocal sound you’re trying to replace
As an example theres an ai paul singing Breads “If” and to my ears I hear a Paul vocal in many spots but in certain spots I feel the vocal still sounds a bit like David Gates.
