I'm relieved to know others aren't floored by the videos that were posted on this thread. It *does* sound like Macca when I squint my ears very hard.Maccawings wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 10:33 am Doesn't sound like Paul at all to me although the technology is very interesting

Don’t get me wrong. A very, very interesting technology which will probably only get better over time but just not there yet.
Time will tell and who wouldn’t like to play with it when it finally does get there?

I think the first use should be to give Paul his voice back, such as with "I Don't Know" (I posted some L/R's elsewhere, such an improvement!).
Go back in his albums to where his voice first started to go and move forward from there. This way some of his later work may actually sound good

I think things are fine the way they are.
Where will A.I. go?

It'll improve rapidly. Just look at what happened with Ai source separation. It went from artefact ridden voice/instrument separations in Unmix to MAL in five short years.

Agreed. Certainly interesting but it sounds odd, like and off-key Paul imitator. I’m sure though that these will continue to get better and soon we won’t be able to tell the difference. Our little hobby is about to become a lot more confusing if not un-navigable IMO.

I'm all in favor of using AI technology for enhancing or repairing something that actually exists but not for creating something that never did. Hearing these kinda gave me the creeps. I'm certainly glad that my childhood was firmly rooted in the 1980s. Buying all those Beatles boot LPs with paper route money. As imperfect as they were they're perfect as they are.
I'm excited for new discoveries that have yet to come to light but having Macca "sing" a solo Lennon song? I'm out.

Really it is just going to disrupt the whole music business. But AI is inherently a disruptor. There will be a point at which it just surges and takes over most people's jobs. I don't think that is far off. But I think in the scheme of things, some 3rd rate rapper losing his job will do no harm to the world!MrMurphMcgee wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 11:17 am Agreed.
