i am in the process of testing all the components in my HT system due to my main receiver device upgrade (The new MHT300), while testing the "Love" DVD on the DVD player, it is simply unplayable (player does not even recognize the DVD), upon review i noticed a grey stain over the outer border of the DVD, "CD Frosting" i guess, i cleaned it up but still the same result, then i tried it over the BD player, and it plays just normal, which is weird
I wonder if someone else has seen this issue with these "Love" DVDs even in a controlled environment? i was not expecting this to happen but seems that is just poor material quality on the DVD
Anyway, have a look at your "Love" DVDs
Regards

If DVD and CD are of same material, that solution may help you.

Many dvds and cds in the noughties were craply made and now have frosting or just won't play. I have loads of them.

My "Love" DVD suffered from the same issue... .
It makes me really mad and willing to get pirate copies to spend so much on legit media and still get problems like this more often than it would take to be considered rare...

I have 4 copies of the genuine pressed Beatles - Live At The BBC Vol 1 Silver Promo CD with the press pack etc & they all have that crystalling problem!
So do some of the Bootleg series 'His Masters Choice' & 'Copy Cat Chronicle' CD Silvers but the DVD's are fine.

Re: CD Frosting on "LOVE" DVD
I checked my copy...
clean, but then, I've never played it.
I often think that the damage is caused by laser light.
How odd! Like my fingerprints on a cheerleader!(ahem)
The CD of the set has been played numerous times...and is crystal/rot/stain free!
The weather?
Thanks,
KC
