Now I need help!
I have taken home the three Get Back TV movies and I have them in MKV format with subtitles. Now I want these transferred to bluray discs and I have understood that you have to convert them to another format and I have done so to AVI. Have burned 2 discs that do not work and would like to know what I do wrong for the discs are expensive. I have Nero as a burning program and there are several different options for bluray, but which should I use? As I said, I am completely new to this and would like a step-by-step help with this. Thanks in advance / Stephan
Help needed with burning Bluray discs
Re: Help needed with burning Bluray discs
So as a side question... Why are you wanting to burn it to bluray? Is it so you can watch on tv? And if so, how old is your tv? If it has a usb port it may well play they mkv straight from a usb stick (or external hard drive) instead of burning a disc.
There are definitely ways to convert an mkv to a video bluray format, I just want to make sure that you even need to do it that way first.

I could use a USB stick.... I can even watch it on my computer if I want too but I would like to have it on a Blueray disc, make a nice DVD sleeve to it. There must be a way to do it....

You can try tsMuxeR. I haven't used it myself, but I've read good things about it. And here's a How To Guide to convert mkv to BluRay folder to burn to a disc.

Re: Help needed with burning Bluray discs
The file format for bluray is m2ts, not avi. TSMuxer has an output called "Bluray folder" which will produce the files needed to burn to disc.

Re: Help needed with burning Bluray discs
I should add that the input files need to be normal mp4s in the h264 codec. TSmuxer just organises them into a bluray compatible folder.
