I noticed that when this ROW eq is applied it also sounds the same as the "Untouched - Off Elektra Acetate" boot of the Glyn Johns 1st mix. So I think this must indeed be the CORRECT eq.

This is a cool little curve.
Lots of places it can be implemented, either as is or inverted.

I just performed this feat of audio magic and indeed, disc 4 does sound much clearer!

On Mac with Audacity 3.0.5 I needed to use the second option:

- IN THE LATEST VERSION OF AUDACITY, YOU CAN ALSO APPLY THE ABOVE "1970 eq.txt" USING "Filter Curve EQ" in "EFFECTS"

The first option failed as others noted. But no need to revert back to an earlier version.

That sounds right.

It would usually be more but disc 4 is mastered to about -1db for some reason, in both editions.
