I recently bought several SGT releases that have CDs and DVDs. My DVD player has never malked at playing a DVD; I don't know if it's because it's not coded (1) for the US or not. Actually, I do nt see any code on any of the DVDs. Any suggestions? I do have a hammer.....

No, they do not. The drive doesn't recognize them as being in the player.

either the DVD is BAD or it's possibly a Bluray DVD? in which case a regular DVD ROM will not read it.

That might be true: but it is the same for 5 sets I bought. None of the DVDs play.
Disturbing update: testing one DVD, I tried to view on my DVD player connected to the TV. It worked. Which means, my computer DVD player sucks.
