Thanks for these! It seems like the “unique” Lennon tracks on Yesterday are in mono on 006 though... bummer. Maybe I’m wrong though? Still, the transfers sound very good overall 👍

Just checked all the versions posted here of Y&T/Revolver and the Lennon tracks on Y&T are stereo. As I previously read the Red Robin and the original Beat CD's (at least so far I checked Y&T/Revolver) are clones. So no bummer on those Lennon tracks, they are stereo.

This Y &T (and i suppose the others BEAT CD too) are severely rebalanced; DESS or "Vee-Jay" drops shows a regular and standard "wide Stereo"...
it's unclear if this comes from the Beat transfer or was Capitol who did it, cutting 'narrowed' masters
We are aware of the 'narrowing' or rebalancing trend in later pressings, but I’ve never met an exaggerated and weird panning like this: Left channel was greatly narrowed, but Right channel was brought even beyond center :o

I took Nowhere Man as example:
1966 YESTERDAY AND TODAY v1 LP (wide stereo)
1966 YESTERDAY AND TODAY v2 (Reel Tape) (wide stereo)
1966 JAPANESE EP (slightly wider stereo)
1969 YESTERDAY AND TODAY v2 LP (wide stereo)
1973 UK RED ALBUM LP [UK R 73] (narrow stereo)
1973 US RED ALBUM LP [US R 73] ('centered' stereo)
1978 RUBBER SOUL LP (Later Issue) (narrow stereo)
1980 BALLADS LP ('centered' stereo)

BEAT's Nowhere Man should be classified "hyper-centered" :D

An interesting thread, I'll have a read and see what I can add.

The first thing that comes to me is that unless I missed them Red Robin only copied one of these European Titles White Album
The Capitol Versions ROB1026 and even this was not a clone with one bonus track added to each disc.

My recollection is that all the versions I managed to compare came from discs with the same matrix number, but I have learnt that doesn't mean they are clones.

Other than some old images I may be able to add new rips of any of the 'Capitol Versions and a couple of others if still needed.

More info to follow.

All the Best Moptop
