Thank you mcp! Man what a GREAT documentary, I still have my VHS copy (even though I haven't owned a VCR in ages). I'd love to see what someone like Lord Reith or AdamBound could do to clean up the footage a little, but either way it's really great to be able to watch this again!
I noticed when watching, the very first word from Malcom McDowell ("Liverpool...") is cut off, but still a REAL treat to watch... brings back a lot of good memories!
Good spot, I failed to notice that at first.
But we still have the FAB productions version from laserdisc which is complete and has better sound.
This was gold back in the day. Video was so rare then. I can remember poring over the few odd fragments of music in this film, grateful for the crumbs we were thrown!
I still love Malcolm McDowell's narration. Eight Days A Week would have been 10x a better film if they'd given Whoopee and her cohorts the elbow and given it some quality narration like this.

Totally agree! I still have my old VHS copy. Watched it a bazillion times.
I remember buying the VHS for this before I even had a player back on 1982....The price??
A whopping £39 which was more than I earned as an apprentice lol.
