Re: This would be cool
It looks like such a fine box, but it could use a present or two-- beatgifties, if you will-- inside it, don't you think?
Re: This would be cool
That brings up the question, what WOULD be the "perfect set" of bootlegs?Lord Reith wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 7:07 am Somebody needs to make this!

Re: This would be cool
in comparison, i would suggest that the original "Artifacts" trilogy qualifies to be the content of this new box (updated of course, better sources and additional content )mmoor999 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 11:05 pmThat brings up the question, what WOULD be the "perfect set" of bootlegs?Lord Reith wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 7:07 am Somebody needs to make this!

This is a must in any Bootleg box set!!!
This is sourced to "Lord Reith's" excellent "Why Don't We Do It In The Bowl." In order to fit two complete shows (1964 and the Aug. 30, 1965 show) the DJ chat at the beginnings of shows has been eliminated, along with some dead air. But you won't miss it! AS we know, a bad mic spoiled the beginning of the Aug. 29, 1965 concert (why didn't they mic check first?), but the tunes recorded with the working mic are included as bonus tracks. The released Hollywood Bowl LP and later official (Eight Days) CD are each just bits of the three shows -- and both official releases are overwrought with screaming and reverb. Lord Reith produced nice stereo mixes from bootleg sources, with screaming evident but not overwhelming. Melvin assembled this project (why didn't Apple do this?). Reith's tracks were normalized in 2015 to up the volume. I shared the audio to this years ago, on another forum, but this comes with new art. Crank this baby up for the holidays!!!
