This Boy - Two Extended Versions
One of the best B-sides ever, THIS BOY has a wonderful bridge section that we only get to hear once. So, as one can never have too much of a good thing, I’ve repeated this section again later on in the song. I also fixed the abrupt reverb cutoff at the end of the bridge where a join of two different takes was made (right after John sings “'til he's seen you cry-y-y-y….”).
I read that this song once had a guitar solo but this is probably long gone. However, George Martin’s instrumental version of This Boy - done for the Hard Day’s Night movie and called ‘Ringo’s Theme’ - does have a a lead guitar solo so I’ve inserted this section into the Beatles version (it was in a different key so I fixed this). I also corrected that sudden reverb cutoff at the very end of the bridge caused by an edit of two takes.
Fun Facts - the lead guitar solo on the George Martin Orcestra version I used here was played by sessionist Vic Flick (the James Bond Theme) and on rhythm guitar was a pre-Yardbirds/pre-Zeppelin Jimmy Page. I mixed together George Harrison's original rhythm guitar (Beatles) with Jimmy Page's rhythm guitar (George Martin Orchestra) - I believe the only time these two legendary musicians ever played together. Enjoy!
Also included in the download are There's A Place and No Reply - both now with repeated bridges. I also EQ'd No Reply as it has always sounded lacking in clarity.

Re: This Boy - Two Extended Versions
Could I get a re-up please? This Boy is one of my favourite Beatles songs so I'd love to hear your versions.
Many thanks.
Many thanks.
