That's true, my friend! Plus George was still holding grudges (like a dog with a bone) against Paul over money issues (and covering a Buddy Holly song would have meant enriching Paul a bit more).
Having said that, I can imagine "Everyday" being sung by The Wilburys, with each vocalist singing a line, in turn.
"Thinking Of Linking" was a potentially fine song that probably started out as something inspired by "Think It Over" and "Peggy Sue Got Married". It's a shame that was never completed. A collection of comments I've made about that over the years:

I was thinking a few weeks ago that Paul (with or without help from George and Ringo) should have finished writing "Thinking Of Linking" and the three of them then recorded a version with Ringo in the lead vocalist role. Would have been a nice way to reprise the C & W side of The Beatles.

I've been thinking that McCartney should do a medley of "Thinking Of Linking" and "Think It Over" and one or two other Holly tunes (I'm thinking of "TOL" as a linking track!).

Paul should have humbly asked George to finish off "Thinking Of Linking" to come up with a McCartney/Harrison co-write. With Ringo on drums and lead vocals and with one of John's favourite guitarists (Link Wray) as a special guest, it could have been something special!!

I think that "Thinking Of Linking" could have been finished up and turned into a country 'n' western song for Ringo to sing.

I wonder why Paul never did finish "Thinking Of Linking"? I remember saying on this site years ago that Ringo could do a medley or mashup of "Thinking Of Linking" with "Think It Over": not that long afterwards, one of those Buddy Holly tribute albums came out with a Ringo version of "Think It Over".....
So, either I have visionary/psychic powers or Ringo's people read this forum (or it is a complete coincidence!!).

Paul and Ringo should hang out for a few hours and spend the time thinking of linking some words together to finish off......"Thinking of Linking". To be sung by Ringo in a C&W style. (I recall writing over at Steve Hoffman's board some years ago that Ringo and Paul could do a medley (or a blend) of "Thinking of Linking" and "Think It Over": months later, a Ringo version of "Think It Over" was released on a Buddy Holly tribute CD. I'm sure it was just a coincidence, but for a moment I thought that Ringo's people might have read my post and gave him the idea to do "Think It Over"!!).

There's an interesting thread that's cropped up over at Steve Hoffman's board:

I remember it sounded excellent. I wish I'd downloaded it when he'd had a download link. Someone here might have downloaded the track a year ago and can upload it for you. I think the track can be heard if you click on the link below. (You can't reach paul62 because the PM part of his account has been disabled, for some reason).Yellowwhale456 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 15, 2022 7:11 am Please reup this one, I wasn't a member back then and would love to hear it Thanks
