I actually find that any Beatles music sends me to sleep. It's like a familiar voice. A lot of insomniacs might make the mistake of thinking everything needs to be dead quiet for them to sleep. I believe our brains are evolved to be most relaxed when we can hear human voices quietly in the background - for the simple reason that in prehistoric times this meant it was safe to go to sleep. Another thing that sends me to sleep in record time is an audiobook. I can lie awake in the silence for three hours, but ten minutes into an audiobook I'm gone.

And, yes, babies in the womb can hear. They learn the sound of their mother's voice, it is quite loud inside. When they are born they instinctively recognise that voice and are comforted by it. I imagine it's not too much of a stretch to think that it might work with music too. A curated choice of gentle music played near to the mother in the later months of pregnancy could then be a valuable sleeping aid for the baby once it is born.

This is an album for listening to at the end of the day, when evening shadows descend and the call of quiet music beckons. Gentle melodies, relective lyrics, soft voices, lush harmonies and acoustic guitars... all you need to unwind after a long day spent battling it out in the rat race.

These are all remixes/demixes - some old, some new, some borrowed some blue. Some I've shared before, some I haven't. Hope you enjoy the experience!
