Potential Let It Be Restoration Project?

Would it be worth it to buy this and restore it? Since I don't have the money, maybe something like a crowdfunding effort to pay for shipping, scanning, etc. might work?

Then again, the new restoration might be exceptional, but only time will tell.

Why would anyone pay $1000 for four minutes of a theatrical print of "Let It Be"? It's just a fragment of the film.

I'm convinced that LIB will not be part of the Get Back bluray.

Hope I'm wrong.

I'm with you Lord Reith, I would be surprised if the original "Let It Be" film ever to sees the light of day legitimately. The Beatles are more than happy to rewrite history... "We always loved each other, hardly ever a dark mood." Right! This sounds familiar, remember the false narrative that John and Yoko spread about their "Love Story"? Ah-la... Romeo & Juliet. Right!

This article says, "A fully restored version of the original Let It Be film will be made available at a later date."

But who knows, it's been said before...

From what I have heard, you are right about that. But it is supposed to see the light of day somewhere along the line.

Although the print looks nice, it's a cinematic one, 35mm, duped from the original 16mm master and also cropped, I don't think it would also be worth it considering Apple will release the film eventually on the Get Back blu-ray set.
