Re: Question about Japan 1966
You won't like this, but the most excited I ever got about Budokan 1966 was when it was a poorly pressed LP called Five Nights In A Judo Arena!
At the time, it was the best sounding LIVE material known. And as time marched on for the album, I realized more and more that it was becoming less and less. It is a perfectly recorded/filmed concert with the most sedate audience ever captured on film. It is The Beatles struggling to cope with the logistics of what they had created and what they had become. I do admire their courage to attempt any of their recent material as LIVE renditions. And it's nice to hear Yesterday as an electrified Beatles number. Otherwise, then it hit me! These guys were miserable but guess what? Nobody's listening to the spectacle anyway. Talk about irony. The crowd is sympathy in the flesh! God, it must have been painful. To be a Beatle...knowing what you're capable of and what you been reduced to ALL at the same time. I'd rather have a root canal on LSD! So, the main question is which one is the best?
For me, it's which ever one is the shortest. The bootleg Judo Arena was from the 30th I think.
Thanks.
KC

Re: Question about Japan 1966
I'm still hoping someone will repost:
The Beatles In Japan 1966 Archive Collection 55th Anniversary Collector's Edition (2021) (4 DVD) (SGT)
I know it was available here once for a week. Sadly, a week when I was away.
