MP4 if it is the original video. A dvd of an mp4 is worse than the mp4.

DVD if it is the original video. An mp4 of a dvd is worse quality.

You can also rehouse dvd files losslessly in an mkv (matroska) container. That is what I do with my own dvd files because I don't own a dvd player any more. viewtopic.php?f=30&t=255

Mp4 or anything in a file format.
I'm using the computer to download it and I'll be using the computer to play it back.
and the computer can play through my large screen tv if i want to.
dvd's are really becoming obsolete these days...along with cd's too.
I cannot remember the last time I put a dvd or bluray in to my player and watched anything.
and I own a stand alone blu ray recorder, which I haven't used in years

I used to burn DVDs, print out the covers etc but now I don't bother. I save all my video files as MP4s onto a memory stick and watch them on my 52 inch TV and they look fine. It's so much easier and, to me, they look exactly the same.

Then you use original videos in order to transfer them into MP4(I suposse you use a great video card and newer and better versions of video transfering software)

Now I understand why your Video Files are in great Quality.

Day after day many of my DVDs keep on covering with dust. :D

I´ve been downloading some DVDs shared in the forum and I can say they are great compilations in "good" quality 8-) , but every time far away from the new standards.

My question is DVDs or MP4 files ???? :?: :?: :?: :)
DVD's have big compression but MP4 has more! I'd rather choose DVD than MP4 (but you can upload MP4 on your mobile devices) :ugeek:

Hello everyone,
I would like to know if anyone could help me?
Suddenly on my XMedia Recode it got weird, in profile the words Amazon and Amzon Free HD 10 started to appear.
I really don't know what happened, it doesn't work anymore, when I try to convert the DVD to MP4 the program crashes and stops working.
Thanks in advance.

If your source is a dvd then converting to mp4 does means re-encode so it is NOT lossless.
To convert (the more appropriate term is not convert but transcode...) in losses mode from source dvd you have to convert to MKV who is it NOT a codec, but only a video container, so conversion will be lossless.
You may use this: hxxps://w w w.makemkv.com/ ( cut the space of course)
