The paperback was one of the first Beatles books I ever got. There were so many interesting things in it, from John's early poems to interviews with the Fabs you won't see anywhere else (like George saying he can't write lyrics!) Utterly fantastic and if you haven't got a copy you must find one.
And of course when "I'll Follow The Sun" turned up on the Quarrymen tape in 1988 and surprised everyone... well, that didn't surprise us guys who had the Merseybeat book - we'd known about that for nearly a decade!
