Nice to see Apple not commemorating it in any way.

Thinking 1963 for a start.
Maybe the aging folks at Apple have lost a mental step or two and simply forgot that a little band called, ahem, the Beatles, recorded their very first of many (generally agreed upon) #1 singles and very first chart topping album exactly 60 years ago. As we remember the story, this English group went on to become kinda successful, er, the greater rock and roll band that ever existed.
Just a thought it might have been nice had the current powers running the empire they built. referred to as "Apple," had maybe done just a little something to commemorate this landmark Diamond Jubilee.
Ah well, there's always 2033, or 2063...

It´s even worse when we think about how every album post "Revolver" has got deluxe editions so far... But when we look at pre-66...

Yeah, there's a definite bias towards the later material. Let's face it, the ONLY reason we got those BBC releases in 2013 was because the copyrights were set to expire. I mean, they didn't just wait 19 years and then suddenly think for no reason "Hey, let's do another BBC set!"billylentz wrote: ↑Sat Apr 15, 2023 12:00 pm It´s even worse when we think about how every album post "Revolver" has got deluxe editions so far... I suppose the Hollywood Bowl counts as early material but that was a tie-in with 8 Days A Week. I'm pretty sure we'd still be waiting for that one otherwise!
Yes, it's not easy being an early Beatles fan. We are like a sub-class, a lower caste, a mongrel dog who occasionally is given cast offs from the dinner table. Woof!
