My dad has always been a HUGE Everlys fan and he bought all of their LPs when they first came out (he has since given them to me). Here's their recording of "Lucille" from 1960:Lord Reith wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 8:42 pm Thanks guys. I should point out that this is an edit, not a demix. But it was done very carefully and the difference is negligible. Normally I'm not bothered by Brian's intros but the Everlys mention is just plain wrong.

Re: Lucille (clean intro)
Playing this file back using VLC, on a Macbook, I get sporadic tiny little gaps/silences throughout the song, which is really annoying.
I've had this before with some downloads.
My VLC is up to date, I assume - v 3.0.18.
Any ways to cure this? Try and download another, from scratch? Use a different playback app?

Yes, the way to correct it is revert back to VLC version 3.0.17.3. The issue you are experiencing is totally the newer Mac version of VLC, there is nothing wrong with the audio file at all. Or, you can use some other playback app.C90 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 12:19 am Playing this file back using VLC, on a Macbook, I get sporadic tiny little gaps/silences throughout the song, which is really annoying.

Re: Lucille (clean intro)
Thankyou gentlemen (and gentleladies if there are any...)
I can't think of any others off the top of my head that would work. This one only did because the intro is simple, repetitive, and easy to reconstruct.
I think I prefer this version to the one in pop go the beatles. That one is wilder but this one is much tighter and the guitar solo not as cringeworthy. I always wince when it gets to the solo in the other one! Sounds like John with his Bigsby vibrato arm to me... definite shades of the solo in the long jam at the end of She's A Woman take 7 where he does almost exactly the same thing at one point.
